Beginning with Blue Steel Express (the Flagship Band!) in 1993, Mad Cap'n Kevin Kimball has worked with a crew of top-notch blues musicians in various combinations that range from acoustic duos to full-blown electric bands.
Not content with that, in 2006 he partnered with long-standing blues supporter Mike Bray and cofounded the Maine Blues Festival, an annual event that features hundreds of Maine blues artists. . .
. . . so whether it's Blue Steel Express, Kevin and the Steeldrivers, or any number of acoustic line-ups, this is the one-stop, single source that covers every possible style and flavor of live blues performance.
Take a few moments to look around the site. Check out "Bands" and "Bios" and get introduced to the individual musicians, the different combinations and bands!
Good Blues to ya!
The Maine Blues Festival
Cofounded In 2006 with longtime blues supporter Mike Bray (www.braysbrewpub.com), this unique blues festival has been keeping the blues alive in Maine by featuring exclusively Maine-based blues artists - no imports, no ringers.
The MBF has grown to a three-day event and features over forty individual blues acts on ten stages, all home grown!
